About the event
Welcome to apply for Västra Låtverkstan 2026-2027!
Västra låtverkstan is a course for those over the age of 14 who like to play folk music and want to play together with others. The ensemble meets four weekends during the school year and goes on a tour in the spring, in addition to scattered concerts and dance gigs. Together with the leaders Jenny Gustafsson and Anders Ådin, they become a close-knit group, learn new songs and songs by ear, practice interplay, arranging, swinging and being on stage. In Västra låtverkstan you grow as an individual, group and musician! All instruments are welcome, all teaching is by ear, i.e. without notes.

The autumn course weekends will be October 17-18 and November 14-15. Further information about these will come later.
The tour takes place in the latter part of the spring. Then you need to take 2-3 days off from school. There will also be concerts at Uddevalla folk music festival dates 7 August and Ornungastämman 13-15 Aug 2027. More on this later.
All information to participants goes via email, therefore provide an email address you check regularly.
Course fee: 4500 SEK is paid via invoice that is sent out via email upon confirmation.
The application is open until September 1. Notification of confirmed place will be sent by email in mid-September. Former participants have priority.
In case of tight finances, there is the possibility of subsidizing the participation fee. The application for a subsidy is made by the guardian submitting a personal letter together with an extract of income information from Skatteverket.vastralatverkstan@gmail.com.
