K9 Nose Work® Basic CourseAll dogs love to work. So, Inspired by working search dogs, the idea was built to make a fun game/activity for all dogs. This simple game allows the dog to play the main role as the expert and do what it does best – namely using its nose. You as a handler will learn to interpret your dog's language, all the small signals will become clues to how you will know where the hide is. It is a great way to keep the dog active mentally and builds the dog's confidence as well as the relationship between dog and human. K9 Nose Work is based on letting the dog use its amazing nose in the hunt for its favorite toy or treat that is hidden in different environments and levels of difficulty. As the dog's skills increase, we make the challenges bigger. We eventually introduce "target scent" if desired. (You choose which scent you want your dog to search, it can be NACSW competition scents from the USA, Swedish SNWK scents, red kong, or whatever you wish) We build a strong search dog, a strong handler and a strong team! Some of the many benefits of K9 Nose Work: · The dog gets mental stimulation · You can play/search anywhere, does not need to have a specific track or equipment.· No previous experience or obedience is needed. · Only one dog at a time is searching, so even dogs that need extra space can join in and play. · Shy and fearful dogs build self-confidence and overactive dogs expend excess energy in the search.· Builds stronger bonds between dog and handler. Handlers learn to observe and see their dog's signals and gain a better understanding of their dog's language. · It's fun for both handler and dog. Plus, it's easy to train in your own home.
