Nose Work – competition instructor, continued
Development for Nose Work instructors who train competition combinations
This course is aimed at those who want to develop themselves as a trainer for teams competing in Nose Work.
Competing is fun, but it is in training that we develop. Competing in Nose Work is not only about finding caches but also the mental condition of both dog and handler and it shows more and more in the higher classes.
We will focus on how can you as an instructor prepare your students for competition and get them to perform well?
We focus on how we can increase the motivation of both dog and handler in the search and how we bring out the best out of each combination.
How do we set up the training for different teams, how do we divide the elements so that we know that each part works.
We will make escalation plans for different competition combinations.
For those who want, there is the opportunity to have a project combination and we do a follow-up in 4 months to see how it has gone.
We start from each instructor's experience and plan the training accordingly.
After completing the course, you will have gained in-depth knowledge of:
· Search exercises/technique
· Placement of caches
· Analyze different searches
· Training plans for competition combinations
· The mental game, what is it that makes some people win?
· Practical training for your own dog.
Target group/prerequisites: The course is aimed at you who are an instructor/teacher in Nose Work and want to develop yourself. You should have good knowledge of the competition form Nose Work.
If you have not taken a course/training for me before, I want you to have looked at an online further development for instructors step 1 that I have, you will get it after registration.
The days are of a high practical level and provide the opportunity for training, discussion and conversation. Your participation, your ideas and your questions are therefore an important ingredient.
Own dog: You can of course bring and train with your dog, but the dog must be able to search in different environments and of course know the target scents for NW.
