About the event
Dog daycare training Bodil Olsson Dog training
For those who plan to start/run a dog daycare and for those who work/are responsible at a dog daycare, we offer a solid dog daycare training in Stockholm.
Location: Hundelska på Hunduddens Träningscenter, Djurgården - Stockholm
Start: spring 2026 Starting a dog daycare and working with dogs is a dream for many. It is a great responsibility to take care of other people's dogs during the day and you need both experience and knowledge to be able to have a well-functioning dog daycare. The Swedish Board of Agriculture places high demands on the dogs to be taken care of by competent people with basic knowledge and practical experience.
Educational objectives:
After completing the training, it is possible for you to start your own dog daycare/dog boarding as the training meets the criteria set by the Swedish Board of Agriculture. The training is also a very good further education for those who already work at a dog daycare and want to gain greater knowledge and inspiration, perfect for those who may want to apply for a job as an operations manager at a dog daycare.
This training consists of physical meetings where we alternate theory and practice. This is so that you as a participant get the security you need to be able to handle and be responsible for other people's dogs in a safe way. You will receive a lot of training in reading and handling dogs to get a good basic knowledge and to be able to feel confident in your professional role.
We talk about stress, passivity, everyday obedience, problem behaviors, equipment, care and how to handle the daily administration at a dog daycare.
After completing the training, the participant should have good knowledge of:
· How to start up and run a dog daycare or dog boarding house
· How to decorate the premises
· How to set up opening and closing routines
· How to get safe walks
· How to create dog groups that work, both indoors and outdoors
· How to get a calm and safe environment for dogs and staff
· How do you get a doggy daycare where the dogs don't bark
· What to do if a dog is not feeling well in kindergarten
· How do you school a new dog?
Content and scope
