About the event
IPS stands for "Individual Placement and Support" and is the form of Supported Employment that has shown the best results in comparison with other forms of support. The method is recommended by the National Board of Health and Welfare to help people with mental illness find and maintain competitive employment.
The conversation methodology within IPS is based on a positive approach where you as a support person focus on supporting the person to identify their resources, believe in themselves and realize goals that the person sets.
During the course days, you will have the opportunity to try out the manuals that the IPS methodology is based on and is based on. We use IPS material from the research and development center Dartmouth Psychiatric Research Center, now Rockeville Institute, in the United States, as well as Swedish-translated material from CEPI and the National Board of Health and Welfare. Our course leaders are educated at Dartmouth PRC, Dartmouth College in the USA by Deborah Becker, who is one of the founders of the IPS model.
The course includes:•History and theory of IPS •Collaboration with other actors •Conversation techniques based on a positive approach •Building relationships with employers •Planning ongoing support •Evidence and research, both nationally and internationally •Evidence-based tool The Program Loyalty Scale

The course is offered digitally via Zoom.
