About the event
The welfare of farm animals has long been a central issue in Swedish and European food policy. EU regulations set common minimum levels for animal welfare, while several countries – including Sweden – have chosen stricter national rules and thus higher requirements for animal welfare in order to increase animal welfare.
Welcome to a seminar where we share results and discuss what research actually says about the relationship between animal welfare and the economy. What costs and economic values do we see? What do the results mean for Swedish competitiveness and food production? And what questions does the research need to move forward with?
