About the event
Learn more about Chinese medicine linked to yin yoga!
Yin yoga consists of three important parts; yoga, mindfulness meditation and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). In this part, we dive straight into the third part; Traditional Chinese Medicine.Yin yoga has drawn a lot of inspiration from the Chinese philosophy of Daoism and medicine. Throughout the ages, these passive stretching techniques have been used in e.g. Qigong.
All the yin yoga poses stimulate the fascia and hence also the different meridians. The meridians are connected to our internal organs. The well-being of the internal organs is the prerequisite for physical and mental health according to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). TCM is based on the teachings of yin & yang, qi, dao and the five elements. During the course, we will go through the five elements, their different expressions mentally, physically and emotionally. We will also focus on the meridians selected acupuncture points and where in the body they are located. Food, weather, thoughts, emotions – everything affects our well-being.
We learn how we can make yin yoga richer with the help of the TCM mindset. Note that TCM is an extremely large and complicated doctrine that takes many years to get a grip on. For those who want an even deeper understanding of TCM, we recommend the Swedish Acupuncture Academy's 3-year educations.
In addition to Magdalena Mecweld, Jana Särman, certified acupuncturist and teacher at the Swedish Acupuncture Academy, will be involved in giving the lectures and QiGong during the course.
