About the event
Spring Workshop Series: Creative Yin & The Eight Worldly Winds – a series of five (stand-alone) workshops
Have you ever felt what it's like to go against a strong wind? How the body tilts, the steps become uncertain and the balance almost disappears. That's how life can feel, too. When something lifts us... and when something knocks us down.
When a sentence makes us expand or shrink. When we win something we have longed for – or lose what we value highly. When happiness opens the heart, and sorrow draws on it.
In the Buddha's teachings, this is called the eight worldly winds – loka-dhamma: forces that blow through every human life. No one avoids them. The question is not whether it will be windy – but how we will remain.
Yin yoga, Creative Yin and meditation – the way in and through
In yin yoga, we practice what the winds shake time and time again: stability, patience, presence and an inner center. Through still positions, we learn to face what is felt without tensing up or fleeing. To soften when we want to fight. To stop when we want to rush. To rest when life shakes. Remembering: everything changes.
Creative Yin is woven throughout the series: playful variations, subtle shifts, new ways into familiar positions. Creative exploration helps us to let go of control, become compliant and find more ways to stand firm – just like in life. When the body becomes steady, the mind becomes clearer. And when the mind becomes clearer, we are given the freedom to choose how we want to answer – instead of letting the wind decide.
This series explores how yin yoga and Creative Yin help us stay within ourselves, no matter what wind blows.
